What we collect, the lawful basis for each use, who else sees it, and how to make us delete it.

Who is responsible for your data

WAZRDOF Group is the data controller for everything described here. We are based in London, United Kingdom.

For any question about this notice, or to exercise any of the rights below, email contact@wazrdof.com. A person reads that address, and we answer data requests within one calendar month.

We are not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer, so requests go to the same address as everything else.

What we collect, and why

When you send an enquiry

Your name and email address, which the form requires, plus your company name, a budget range and the description of your problem if you choose to give them. The enquiry also carries the IP address and approximate country it was sent from, which we use to spot spam and abuse.

We use this to reply, to work out whether we can help, and to keep a record of the conversation if the enquiry turns into a project.

The lawful basis is legitimate interests: you approached us about our services and replying is the obvious consequence. Giving us this data is not a statutory or contractual requirement, but we cannot reply without an email address.

When you browse the site

We record which page was viewed, roughly how long it stayed open, how far down it was scrolled, which sections were on screen, and which links and buttons were clicked. We also store a broad device category, the domain that referred you, and how quickly the first page you open loads and responds.

To count how many different people visit each day, the server combines your IP address and browser type with a random key that is replaced every 24 hours, and keeps only a short scrambled code. The IP address itself is never stored. Because the key is deleted daily, the code cannot be linked to you, to another day, or to anything outside this site. Visits from search engines and other automated tools are recorded separately by the name of the tool, with no personal data. The lawful basis is legitimate interests in understanding which pages are useful.

Keeping the site up

Your IP address is processed briefly to rate-limit the contact form and to lock out repeated failed sign-ins to our own dashboard. For that purpose it is held in memory for the length of the window and never written to disk. The lawful basis is legitimate interests in keeping the site available and unabused.

What we deliberately do not collect

We do not store your IP address in the analytics, your browser user-agent string, or any cookie or identifier that would let us recognise you from one day to the next or across sites. That is why this site has no cookie banner. The cookie page sets out the little we do store in your browser: a session value for the loading screen, and a language setting if you choose one.

We use no third-party analytics, no advertising pixels, no social trackers and no session recording. The analytics data sits on our own server.

We do no automated decision-making and no profiling. Nothing about you is scored, segmented or decided by a machine.

Opting out of analytics

If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, the analytics do not run at all. We check for both before recording anything, so there is nothing further you need to do.

Who else sees it

Resend delivers enquiry emails to us. They process the contents of your enquiry as our processor.

Cloudflare sits in front of this site and routes traffic to it. They see connection data, including your IP address, in the course of delivering the page.

Nobody else receives your data. We do not sell it, we do not share it for marketing, and we do not pass it to advertising networks.

Data leaving the UK

Resend and Cloudflare are United States companies and your data may be processed there. Those transfers rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission standard contractual clauses, which is the safeguard UK GDPR requires. You can ask us for a copy of the relevant terms.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept while the conversation is live and for up to two years afterwards, because people often come back. If the enquiry becomes a project, the record is kept for six years after the work ends, which is the period we may need it to answer a legal claim.

Analytics records are deleted after twelve months. Rate-limiting and lockout records disappear within twenty-four hours at the latest.

How it is kept safe

The site is served over HTTPS. The analytics data and the enquiry records sit on a machine we control, behind a dashboard that requires a PIN and a second factor sent to a separate device. Access is limited to the WAZRDOF Group staff who need it.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the following rights. Email contact@wazrdof.com to use any of them. We will not charge you and we will answer within one month.

Access
Ask whether we hold anything about you and get a copy of it, along with the detail set out in this notice.
Rectification
Have anything inaccurate corrected, and anything incomplete completed.
Erasure
Ask us to delete what we hold. We will do so unless we need it to defend a legal claim or to meet a legal obligation, and we will tell you which applies.
Restriction
Ask us to stop using your data while a complaint or a correction is being resolved, without deleting it.
Portability
Receive the data you gave us in a structured, machine-readable format, or have us send it to someone else where that is technically possible.
Objection
Object to processing we carry out under legitimate interests. We will stop unless we can show compelling grounds that override your interests.
Withdrawing consent
Where we rely on consent, withdraw it at any time. Doing so does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
Complaining
Complain to the Information Commissioner at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113. You can do that without contacting us first, though we would rather have the chance to put it right.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle data we will update this page and move the date at the top. We do not keep a mailing list, so there is nowhere to notify you from. The date is the honest signal.

Questions about this page
